Never fear, there’s always good food and great vibes to explore! If you’ve never visited Roanoke, Va then you should. Well, only if you’re an outdoorsy individual and love the mountain views. But, besides that there are also several delicious restaurants just around the corner. Specifically, the ones that are considered to be downtown. Which by the way, I would say is a very cute and welcoming area. I was able to try a few places while being there for work reasons and I wanted to share with you the restaurants I tried. However, my favorite restaurant I tried would have to be SideCar. So, let’s go.
- SideCar: It is more of a fine dining area so I would say if you wanted to dress up, that this would be a great place for that. Also, you do have the opportunity to get smaller portions so that way you can try several items on the menu, which is what I decided to do.
- Foie gras & lamb meatball
- Steak Frites & Moroccan Chicken Thighs

*Other items were tried but I figured I would give a glimpse of what they serve*
- Scratch Biscuit Co: Apparently Roanoke, Va is known for their made-from-scratch biscuits and I can see why. This place is basically a breakfast/lunch spot so it’s only open for a certain amount of time. There’s also a cute patio option if you just wanted to sit outside and enjoy a nice sunny day. I would say go sit outside due to the place not being big on the inside.
- The Early Rise Platter
**Let’s just say I’ve never tried corn in my grits but it was the best combination I’ve ever tried.**
- Cabo Fish Taco: If you’re a taco lover like I am, then I think you would love this place. I ordered so much from this place that you can easily rack up on your bill. Lol! So, watch yourself! And I just found out that Charlotte, NC has a location, so I’m super stoked about that. Yeah, I know I’m probably late but oh well!
- BBQ mahi- mahi taco:
- Honey soy glazed salmon taco: If you know me, then you know I will always choose salmon.
**Make sure you try this one.**
- Billy’s: I also love pasta so I’m willing to try different ones just to see. So, I decided to see what was offered here. I went right before the crowd, which was perfect with Covid still going around.
- Lobster alfredo and the lamb chop lollipops
**However, I did not care for the sauce on the lamb chops but some may.**
If you happen to be in the area, here are a few places that you might want to try out. If you’ve already visited Roanoke, Va and tried food here, what was your favorite place? Because I’m always ready to talk about food! Come sit with me…
