Costa Rica

Pura Vida!

A very known phrase in Costa Rica meaning “pure life”. It’s a way of life. So anyone that you speak to in the area, say “Pure Vida”. You get to learn so much from the locals and everyone is so friendly.

Costa Rica is a place with a beautiful culture, spectacular rainforests, and let’s not forget the beaches. We visited the area of San Jose. San Jose is the home to institutions like the Gold Museum (which we visited). I can’t travel somewhere without visiting a museum of some sort.

Sadly, we stayed within the downtown area of San Jose and did not get to experience the beach this time around.

But, we did have magnificent views from out hotel. I can’t complain there and the views at night are even more breathtaking.

Furthermore, if you’re wondering about the money conversions. Here’s a breakdown provided by such a lovely gentlemen who assisted with our transportation. FYI: have transportation prepared before you even leave to go to Costa Rica!

If you’re wondering about the total breakdown of this trip. Here is it:

Flights (after taxes and fees) : 830 x2 (due to my mom wanting to fly out closer to home)

Hotel (Hilton La Sabana): 1,146 for 7 days

The breakfast every morning was amazing!

All were included within a day trip to tour San Jose. After we decided to walk for 5 hours around in the heat. Not to mention we did go during the rainy season. So rain jackets and/or mini umbrellas are a must if going during that time.

The day we walked around for about 5 hours. 😫
Indoor market

Overall, a great experience and taught me that a second language is a must! Even though I’m proud to say I did well. I learned my lesson after visiting Puerto Rico.
