Fermented grapes turn to wine, with either a sweet or bitter blend that each of us enjoys. I can say that most wines I truly look forward to. By far-red wine is my favorite, but I have to be honest that Riesling has become my favorite brand of whites. There is so much to learn about wine that there are wineries that offer wine tours. Of course, there are numerous wineries worldwide but I went to my first one and stayed over. If you’re wondering what winery, well it was Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton, GA. It’s a beautiful resort.
If you’ve had the opportunity to experience it, I would love to hear about your experience. If not, then let me give you some insight into my experience while I was there. First and foremost, I did not have the privilege of partaking in all of the activities that were offered at the resort. The activities I did partake in were a delight, so let’s talk about it.
Here’s a list of the activities you’re able to take part in:
- Wine tour
- Golf
- Cooking classes
- Outdoor areas for kids
- Restaurants and Bars
- Spa
- Tennis
Upon arrival, the spa was the first thing I decided to do. Just to inform you that the spa facility closes at 6 pm. When a spa is booked, you’re able to utilize the spa amenities. But, I mean, of course, you are, right? You’re able to utilize the steam room, sauna, heated indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness area. However, by the time of arrival, the only amenities I was able to indulge in were the steam room, sauna, and fitness area. In addition to all of that, classes are offered like yoga, aerobics, cardio. Etc.

Later that day, after a nice sushi date at Eight Sushi Lounge, a trip to Louis House of Bourbon back at the resort was deserved. It’s a nice place for couples on a weekend getaway to enjoy themselves. Although, that was the time I wished I signed up for the cooking classes offered there. Maybe there will be the next time.

After a few drinks, that was it for me. I’m no longer in my 20’s and shots just hit different after a while. Our stay was at the Chateau Inn, even though there are other hotels at the resort to choose from.

Furthermore, the next day was all about recovery from the night before and the wine tour. The wine tour was very educational and it took about an hour. It was nice to learn more about wine and some of the things we should look for. The tour was a class of about 16 of us. We were shown where the wine is fermented and stored. It was a delightful evening.

So, if you ever happen to be interested in visiting a winery, check out Chateau Elan.
