It’s been awhile since I’ve had the pleasure of letting you in on some things. However, I was just practicing self-care and taking the time to enjoy myself. I know last year and even this year has taken a toll on everyone. I know sometimes it can be hard to practice self-care, especially if you have a tight schedule. But, you should take the time to do so.
So, let’s discuss self-care. What is it? There are several things to consider when self-care is brought up. Being able to take care of you mind and soul is what I consider self-care because your mind is a powerful tool. Even saying “no” to anything that makes you uncomfortable or upset, is practicing self-care. A few activities I’ve participated in:
- Massages:
Literally, one of my favorite practices of self-care. I have had the privilege to go monthly because working two jobs and being a mom can take a toll on the body. Even if you decided to go once every 6 months or a year, you should still try it.

2. Mini Weekend Trips:
I didn’t have the chance to go anywhere last year and I try to go somewhere at least once a year. Thus far I’ve visited Raleigh, DC, and Savannah as a mini trip. Just decided to get in the car and drive. Some trips were with family and some with friends. I’ll let you in on those trips later on. Take that trip or even head to the beach, by some water.

3. Back to Spinning:
It was time to get back to my routine of working out. As I get older, exercising and eating healthy is very important to my health. My spin bike is basically my ‘go to’, which I try to do in the mornings before getting my day started.

4. Painting:
For some reason, painting has been an outlet for me on several occasions. Now, don’t get me wrong I’m no good painter but we all start somewhere. Lol! Right? Anyway, I think it has helped me in several ways and I even do it with my daughter because art is just a beautiful relief.

I would like to know what are some of you all outlets or self-care that’s practiced. Discuss the best moments of our days or weeks or even months.
